How to use the Overview Page
Track today's deliveries, review your schedule, and check performance trends without leaving your Dashboard.
The Overview page is your reporting hub inside the Tough Commerce Dashboard. It shows what's happening right now, what's scheduled, how your business is performing over time, and what's coming up in the next week. This article walks you through each tab on the Overview page so you know where to look when you need a quick picture of your operations.
Please note The Overview page replaces the reporting you used to find in the separate Portal window. The Portal is still available from the left-hand menu for now, but the Overview page has the same information, so you no longer need to switch between apps.
Tip Everything on the Overview page is read-only. You can look, filter, and download, but you can't change orders from here. To make changes, click an order number to jump straight to that order.
Jump to a section:
- Open the Overview page
- Live Operations: see today's deliveries in real time
- Schedule: review every order for a day
- Performance & Totals: check how your business is trending
- Future Planning: see the week ahead
- Detailed: search and filter individual deliveries
Definitions
Product category: A group of related products set up in your account, such as volumetric concrete or pumping. Several tabs let you switch between product categories so you can see each part of your business on its own.
Unit of measure: How your business measures work, such as hours, yards (yd), cubic metres (m³), or tons. The Overview page shows totals in the unit your account uses.
Yard: The location an order is loaded and dispatched from.
Load: One truck's delivery within an order. Larger orders are split into several loads, each with its own driver, truck, and quantity.
Open the Overview page
- In your Dashboard, click Overview in the left-hand menu.
- The page opens on the Live Operations tab. Use the five tabs along the top to switch views:
- Live Operations shows today's deliveries as they happen.
- Schedule lists every order for a chosen day.
- Performance & Totals shows daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly results.
- Future Planning shows what's booked for the next seven days.
- Detailed shows individual deliveries in a searchable table.
Live Operations: see today's deliveries in real time
The Live Operations tab gives you a live snapshot of the day. It updates on its own as drivers move through each stage of a delivery, so you don't need to refresh the page.
- Click the Live Operations tab.
- Check the date in the date picker at the top. It shows today by default.
- To look at another day, click the date picker and choose a date. You can pick a past or future date.
- If your business has more than one product category, choose one from the Category dropdown.
- The dropdown lists the product categories set up in your account. The page only shows orders in the category you select.
- Read the workload bar. It shows how much of the day's work is done:
- The large number shows the amount delivered compared with the total scheduled, in your unit of measure.
- Below it, you'll see the percentage complete and how many trucks are active out of the total trucks scheduled.
- The bar fills in as loads are completed. The colored legend underneath shows how many loads are at each stage.
- Review the status board below the workload bar. Each column holds the loads at one stage of delivery, with a count at the top:
- Not started: The load hasn't left the yard yet.
- On the way: The truck is driving to the job site.
- On-site: The truck has arrived at the job site.
- Returning: The truck is heading back to the yard.
- Delivered: The load is complete.
- Each card shows the details of one load. [GAP — confirm which details each status board card shows. The Jira ticket lists contractor, driver, truck, scheduled time, on-site hours or unit, and amount delivered, but the recording only shows an empty day.]
- To find a specific order, type a customer name or order number into the Search box. [GAP — confirm what the Search box matches on (order number, customer, address, driver?).]
Schedule: review every order for a day
The Schedule tab lists every order for the day you choose, grouped by start time. Use it to check what's booked, which yard each order comes from, and which drivers and trucks are assigned.
- Click the Schedule tab.
- Choose a day with the date picker. It shows today by default.
- Narrow the list with filters:
- Click Filters to open the filter panel on the left. You'll notice Active and Incoming are already applied, so you see the orders still in progress first.
- Order Status: Shows only orders at the stages you pick. Choose one or more of Active, Incoming, Canceled, Completed, On Hold, and Pending Complete.
- Products: Shows only orders that include the products you pick.
- Category: Shows only orders in the product categories you pick.
- Customer: Shows only orders for the customers you pick.
- Location: Shows only orders from the yards you pick.
- The Products, Category, Customer, and Location lists show your top 50 options. Type in the box to find anything not listed.
- Manage the filters you've applied:
- Each active filter appears as a chip above the list. Click the X on a chip to remove that filter.
- Click Clear (above the list) or Clear all (in the filter panel) to remove every filter at once.
- Click the X in the top-right corner of the filter panel to close it. Your filters stay applied.
- Read an order card. Each card shows:
- Yard and order number: The yard the order ships from, followed by the order number in green.
- Status badge: The order's current stage, such as Incoming or Delivering.
- Customer: The customer's name, the site contact underneath, and the scheduled start time.
- Delivery address: Where the order is going.
- Products: The products ordered and the total quantity.
- Drivers / Equipment: One row for each load, showing the driver, truck, load status, product, quantity, and time. If no one is assigned yet, the row says No driver or truck assigned yet.
- To see or change an order, click its order number. The order opens in the Orders page.
- To save a copy of the schedule, click the green download button in the top-right corner. Your browser downloads the schedule as an HTML file you can open, print, or keep on hand during an outage.
Please note The downloaded schedule ignores any filters you've applied, so it always includes every order across all product categories.
Tip Not sure what each order status means? Read Order Statuses for a full breakdown.
Performance & Totals: check how your business is trending
The Performance & Totals tab shows how much work you've completed over different time periods and how that compares with earlier periods. Use it to spot busy and slow stretches or to report on results.
- Click the Performance & Totals tab.
- If your business has more than one product category, choose one from the Category dropdown. All the numbers and charts on this tab update to match.
- Review the four summary cards along the top:
- Daily: Today's totals.
- Weekly: The current week so far.
- Monthly: The current month so far.
- Annual: The current year to date.
- Each card shows the total volume in your unit of measure, the number of Trucks and Orders, and a percentage badge comparing it with the previous period. A green badge means you're up, and a red badge means you're down.
- Scroll down to Deep Dive Analytics for charts comparing this year with last year:
- Cumulative Yearly Volume: A running total of volume across the year. Use it to see whether you're ahead of or behind last year's pace.
- Month-to-Month Comparison: Volume for each month, side by side with the same month last year.
- Weekly Volume Trends: Volume for each week of the year, side by side with the same week last year.
Future Planning: see the week ahead
The Future Planning tab shows what's booked for the next seven days, starting today. Use it to plan staffing and trucks before the work arrives.
- Click the Future Planning tab.
- If your business has more than one product category, choose one from the Category dropdown.
- Review the Future Outlook summary at the top. It shows the date range covered and totals for the whole week:
- Orders Scheduled: How many orders are booked.
- Total Trucks: How many trucks are needed.
- Total volume in your unit of measure.
- The percentage badge on the right compares this week with the previous seven days.
- Review the day cards below. Each card covers one day and shows the number of orders and trucks, the total volume, and a percentage badge comparing that day with the same day last week.
Detailed: search and filter individual deliveries
The Detailed tab lists individual deliveries in a table, one row per load. Use it when you need to look up a specific delivery or Order Number rather than see the big picture.
- Click the Detailed tab.
- Choose a day with the date picker.
- Type in the Search box to find a specific delivery.
- Click Filters to narrow the table. You can combine as many filters as you need:
- Customer: Shows deliveries for the customers you pick.
- Location: Shows deliveries from the yards you pick.
- Operator: Shows deliveries assigned to the drivers you pick.
- Truck: Shows deliveries assigned to the trucks you pick.
-
- Product: Shows deliveries of the products you pick.
- Read the table. Each row shows:
- Order / Task ID: The order number (click it to open the order) and the task ID for that load underneath.
- Date: The scheduled date and time.
- Customer: Who the delivery is for.
- Location: The yard and its address.
- Operator / Truck: The assigned driver and truck, or Not assigned.

Tip The unit shown across every tab (hours, yards, cubic metres, or tons) depends on how your account is set up. If the unit looks wrong, raise a ticket and our team will check your setup.
